How We Work

Peritus & Company — How We Work

This is not a transaction.
It is a relationship.

We are here to help seniors live their last chapters as fully, as safely, and as peacefully as possible — and to give their families the clarity and confidence to support them.

Every family we work with is different. Some come early, wanting to plan ahead while they still have choices. Some come in the middle of a crisis, searching for someone to steady the situation. Some are managing a loved one’s affairs from far away and need a trusted person on the ground. We meet you exactly where you are — and we stay.

I
Aging readiness & life system assessment

We begin by understanding the whole picture — how you live, what you need, and where the gaps are before they become emergencies. Using the SilverBeacon 4 Pillars & 8 Domains framework, we assess home safety, financial organization, legal readiness, digital life, caregiving systems, and family coordination. The result is a clear, deeply personalized map of what needs to happen and in what order.

II
Organizing the life system

Peace of mind begins with knowing where things are. We organize the physical and digital infrastructure of daily life — legal documents, financial accounts, medical records, passwords, insurance policies, and digital assets. When everything is findable, every future decision becomes easier. This work alone transforms a family’s experience of a transition from chaos to clarity.

Property, home & project management

The home is where most aging transitions begin and end. Bernard brings more than 30 years of hands-on residential construction and remodeling experience to every property engagement — assessing fall risks, overseeing safety modifications, managing contractors, and coordinating the physical work families find most overwhelming. We are the eyes and ears on the ground when family cannot be there.

Professional fiduciary services

When a licensed professional is needed to manage financial affairs, administer an estate, serve as trustee, or act under power of attorney — Dagmar steps in. As California Licensed Professional Fiduciary #1460, she manages complexity with precision, confidentiality, and genuine care. Clients and families gain a single accountable professional who holds their interests first, always. This is not advisory. This is stewardship.

V
Family facilitation & ongoing coordination

Families don’t fall apart because they don’t care — they fall apart because no one is coordinating. We facilitate the conversations families need to have about roles, wishes, and what happens when — and we remain available as circumstances change. When something shifts, you have one relationship with people who already know your whole situation, rather than starting over with a new specialist.
